Company History

Empire Steel Erectors, L.P. was formed in May of 2000 as a successor to Empire Steel, Inc. Empire Steel, Inc. was chartered in 1969 by Mr. Frank Gunnels, Sr., who passed away in 1998, after a long and distinguished career in the construction industry in the Gulf Coast area.

The company remains family owned and operated, with Mr. Gunnels’ four daughters and two sons active in the business. Empire operates primarily in the greater Houston area, with occasional jobs in other parts of Texas.
