Empire Steel
TexasSafety Programs
Empire Steel recognizes the importance of safety on jobs. We are a member of The Compliance Alliance (TCA), a Houston-based safety organization. TCA's approach is to establish safety and health processes consistent with the ISO 9000 paradigm for an internationally recognized, world class, quality system.
TCA has helped Empire implement this system by teaching the company team how to incorporate safety into every aspect of its existing processes. TCA also helps Empire monitor the system to ensure the process is constantly improving. TCA’s activities include training, random audits, statistical analyses, safety reports and process improvement recommendations.
Additionally, TCA has helped Empire develop custom written hazard communication, respiratory protection, fall protection, confined space, and drug free workplace programs.
TCA is also a partner in Empire’s continuing efforts to maintain and improve processes support safety:
Process Maintenance--TCA has implemented systems which document that Empire is consistently and fairly implementing its current safety processes. Based on TCA recommendations, Empire has implemented a safety request system and weekly site safety meetings designed to be easy for our field personnel to use. These documents are fundamental to monitoring, and maintaining, ongoing process improvement.
Process Improvement--TCA monitors Empire’s safety processes in two ways. First, TCA personnel conduct random audits of our safety processes. Secondly, the data collected in these audits, combined with data collected from your safety request system and weekly safety meetings becomes the basis for statistical reports. These reports give Empire’s Safety Committee a sound basis to track trends, identify and correct problems, and focus training.
Empire remains committed to worker/workplace safety as a critical element in its continued success.
